Jade Hanks was a successful interior designer in San Diego County, California. 

She moved next-door to her step-dad Tom Merriman to help him as he suffered from different illnesses. He had been part of her life since she was 14 years old.  

One night she stumbled upon some images on his computer that changed the entire course of both their lives.

Martha Moxley was a high school student in Greenwich, CT. She and some friends had gone out for a night of mischief the day before Halloween in 1975. Soon after, Marthas body was discovered after not returning home that evening. 

It would take decades before any charges were brought up on the case.
